Kiyong Kim (M’97) received the B.S. degree from Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea, in 1979, the M.S.E.E. degree from the University of South Florida at Tampa, in 1991, and the D.Sc. degree from the Systems Science and Mathematics Department at Washington University in St. Louis, MO, in 1995. He worked for the Agency for Defense Development, Korea, from 1979 to 1988, as a Research Engineer in the areas of system modeling, analysis, design, and simulation. He is currently with Basler Electric Company, Highland, IL. His research interests are in the development and application of computational intelligence techniques for digital excitation control systems, parameter identification, and power systems stability and control.
