Jake founded MAYA Viz, a US collaborative visual analytics software company that used an innovative new distributed semantic database.  For 10 years, the US military has used this platform as the primary ground command and control system connecting 100’s of command posts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
 Jake was CTO at MAYA Viz from 1998-2005.  After its acquisition by General Dynamics Inc., he served as Chief Scientist until 2012.  Jake was responsible for technical strategy, software architecture and user experience, leading a team of 130.  Prior to MAYA Viz, Jake studied computer science and was on the research staff at Carnegie-Mellon University.
