Joanna Wadsworth

Joanna Wadsworth
serves as a program manager at the City of Las Vegas, having nearly two decades’ experience practicing civil and transportation engineering. She has worked in both the private and public sectors on a variety of projects including intelligent transportation systems and transportation planning and design. Her focus at the City includes pedestrian safety, traffic calming, complete street projects, and Smart City technology planning and design. Most recently, she was a team member to develop the City’s Smart City Proposal for the USDOT’s Smart City Challenge. She is currently working with the City team to develop and implement the Smart City projects identified within their Smart City Challenge Proposal including planning for connected and autonomous vehicles. Earlier this year, she was involved in the launch of the first completely autonomous and fully electric shuttle to be deployed on a public roadway. A native of Las Vegas, Wadsworth earned her Bachelor and Masters of Science in Civil Engineering. She is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She is a certified Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Nevada. She is a member of Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), Women in Transportation (WTS), and American Public Works Association (APWA).
