Gerhard Schlegl is responsible within MAN Diesel & Turbo for the Project development and Technical Tendering for engine based power plants. Gerhard Schlegl is working more than 22 years for MAN Diesel & Turbo and previously 3 years in the Chemical Industry as process engineer. In his career he was active in various engineering areas within marine and stationary applications of four stroke medium speed engines. His background is Mechanical Engineer with focus on Process Technology and Thermodynamics. He is living in Augsburg, Germany, at the headquarter of MAN Diesel & Turbo and the location where the Diesel engine had been invented. He believes that engines with their high efficiency and flexibility will play an increasing important role in the power generation as the perfect partner to the renewables.
