Massimo Brignone was born in Finale Ligure, Italy, on October 15, 1979. He received the M.S. (cumlaude) and Ph.D. degrees in mathematics from the University of Genoa, Italy, in 2003 and 2006, respectively. He is currently a Researcher in the Department of Naval, Electrical, Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering, University of Genoa. He is the author or coauthor of more than 90 scientific contributions published in reviewed journals or presented at international conferences. From 2017, he is president of the WIGAAR s.r.l. spin-­off of the University of Genoa. His research interests focus on integral equations in smart grid and smart cities, energy management system and optimization, electromagnetic field theory, electromagnetic compatibility, and lightning modeling.
