Responsible for providing the direction and strategy for implementation of a broad range of digital technologies within the global Doosan Service Business Group. With the ICT, IoT, Industry4.0 movements generating much hype as well as significant potential business value, the challenge is to navigate the technology offerings and align with business benefits. A Chartered Engineer with BEng degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Glasgow University. With over twenty years’ experience working in a number of R&D departments within aerospace, gas turbine and energy companies, responsibilities have ranged from design method development, gas turbine component design, technical library and knowledge management, implementation of HPC and improved computing hardware for Engineering, plus promotion of best practice from other industries, such as PLM, PDM, SPDM, MBSE, VR, AR, etc. Just under 10 years employment with Doosan Babcock Ltd, an energy equipment OEM globally recognised for industrial boiler technology. 10 years service with Siemens Industrial Turbines latterly within the Chief Engineers Office, responsible for Methods and Processes. Also, Core Competence Owner for Secondary Air Systems and previously Group Leader for Aerothermal and Air Systems team. 4 years employment within BAE Systems in the Corporate Research Centre based at Filton, Bristol undertaking CFD consultancy with other business units.
