Mike O’Hare is building a new UK distributed energy business for National Grid, including providing energy storage solutions to customers help them capture the numerous benefits storage bring. Mike previously helped developed new distributed energy businesses for E.ON in the UK and Sweden. His 17 years’ experience in the energy industry also includes being General Manager of London Array – the World’s largest operational offshore wind farm at 630 MW with a £2.2bn asset value. And as Head of SSE Network’s Thames Valley Region he served 900,000 customers with responsibilities including fault restoration, new connection delivery, network construction and maintenance for 6,500km of 240V to 132kV distribution network. Mike is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology. He has a MSci degree in Physics from the University of Bristol and an Executive MBA with Distinction from Warwick Business School. His MBA thesis on London Array’s supply chain won the award for Best Dissertation.
