Kees van der Leun (1960) graduated from Utrecht University with an MSc in Physics in 1986. He joined Ecofys as its third employee and was involved in the management of the company ever since. He led Ecofys’ solar energy activities and initiated major project and product development. At present, Kees van der Leun is Managing Partner Strategic Consultancy at Ecofys, advising companies and governments by leveraging the full value of the wide range of expertise available within Ecofys, an international consultancy company with top experts in all fields of sustainable energy. He was project director of The Energy Report: a thorough and visionary global scenario showing how the world can reach 100 per cent renewable energy by 2050, and, together with his colleague Kornelis Blok, launched ‘Wedging the Gap’, a novel bottom-up approach to the global climate challenge
