Dr. Tim Mennel has been a Senior Consultant in the Market & Policy Development team of DNV GL since July 2012. He is specialized on the design and regulation of power markets, with a focus on the integration of renewable energy into the power system and market design. Before joining DNV GL, he was employed as a Senior Researcher at the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim, Department of Environmental Economics, where he was responsible for energy projects. Mr. Mennel holds a master's degree in Mathematics (1998) and a PhD in economics (2004), both from the University of Bonn. He has published widely on environmental aspects of energy policy, in particular renewable energy support and energy efficiency regulation.
