My career history: My professional experience includes design, building, commissioning, project leading, simulation and operation of nuclear power plants, gas- and hardcoalfired power plants, nuclear waste treatment, and nuclear interim storage. After my studies in mechanical engineering (energy systems) at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences, Rüsselsheim, Germany, I started my engineer career as a commissioning engineer (Siemens/KWU) in 1982. I worked on several projects: Gundremmingen B+C (2x1350 MW; BWR), Ras-Dijnet (Algeria, 4x176 MW, gas-fired), Neckarwestheim II (1350 MW, PWR), Full Scope Simulator (Kraftwerksschule Essen, BWR). In 1991, I worked for GNS (subsidiary of E.ON Kernkraftwerke GmbH) as a project leader. I was responsible for a nuclear waste incineration project and a nuclear interim storage (ZLN, Greifswald). From 1995 until 1999, I was head of the production department and deputy manager at the hardcoal-fired power plant GKK (subsidiary of E.ON Kraftwerke GmbH and Stadtwerke Kiel, each 50 %). From 2000 until 2009, I was employee of E.ON Kraftwerke GmbH and responsible as Managing Director of power plant Mehrum. In addition, as a senior expert, I did a lot of Due Diligence in Russia, Romania and Turkey, were E.ON extended their generation business. As a member of the steering committee, I brought in my knowledge in design and project organization for the E.ON convoy power stations (4 x 1100 MW hardcoal-fired) Datteln, Staudinger, Massflakte (Netherland) and Antwerp (Belgium).
