Suzanne Roosen is the Director of the Division of Budget Formulation in the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Office of Budget. Suzanne and her team are responsible for FDA’s annual budget request, totaling almost $5 billion dollars. The budget formulation process involves the coordination of over 200 staff members across FDA. Suzanne is adept at leading these staff members through the complex process of developing three different versions of a 300 page budget justification each request cycle, with the final version culminating in the fine-tuned request to Congress. Prior to joining the FDA Office of Budget, Suzanne was the lead for Budget Formulation for FDA’s Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN), which she first joined as a Presidential Management Fellow in 2008. Suzanne started her federal career at the Department of Treasury, United States Mint. She holds a Masters of Public Administration from the American University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Connecticut.
