Dennis LeGear is a captain (ret.) with the Oakland (CA) Fire Department with AS in fire technology and a BS in Vocational Studies. With work experience in Cal Fire, Kings County and Oakland. He was a technical advisor to both the UL Fire Attack Study and the UL Coordinated Attack Study. Author of numerous Fire Engineering Articles and the Water SUpply Chapter in the FF 1&2 Handbook. He has consulted all over north America, around spec and layout of suppression equipment on fire apparatus and has initiated industry wide changes at the manufacturer level, in hose & nozzle designs.
