I have been in the fire service for 17 years. I have my Associates of Applied Science Degree in Fire Technology and Administration. My tenure includes being involved in the Sofa Super Store in June of 2007. After the fire, I was a contract firefighter in Iraq. In 2008 I joined the City of Charleston Fire Department and worked my way to the rank of Captain in the busiest Engines in the city all while focusing on firefighter survival and RIT. My last assignment before leaving Charleston was Recruit Training Coordinator for the CFD. I have been the Battalion Chief if Training for Summerville Fire-Rescue since 2017. In 2017, I began teaching firefighter survival, RIT, and downed firefighter CPR on a national level with Chief Jim Crawford of Midway Fire Department. Those venues include the FDIC HOT RIT class in 2018 and teaching RIT and downed firefighter CPR in Connecticut. I continue to teach firefighter survival, RIT, and downed FF CPR throughout the state of South Carolina.
