Nimesh Shah has a University Degree (Bachelor in Electrical Engineering, specialization in Power Systems). He has over 20 years of experience with Hydro Company (Power industry). He is a registered professional engineer with Engineers and Geoscientist BC. He is also a registered Senior Member of IEEE. In his current role as a Specialist Engineer with T&D System Operations at BC Hydro, he works with Real Time Operations to demonstrate the successful completion of complex engineering assignments. He provides engineering support to Real Time Operations control room staff by researching on major issues and finding solution to the highly complex, unusual and difficult problems. His engineering studies and analysis formulated innovative approaches in the development of techniques and procedures. He manages the Control Room operator training, which gives him an opportunity to share the knowledge with all of the control room staff. As a rotational opportunity, he also acts as System Control Manager managing the control room staff and actions. VVO proponent and supports VVO at the Fraser Valley Office Control Centre. He is responsible for the VVO interface to EMS and DMS, and all aspects of VVO affecting Operators.
