Michelle Shirey has worked in various roles in health care for over 25 years , beginning her career in the clinical world as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in Buffalo, NY . Along her career journey she entered the management track, earned a MBA and her Fellowship in the American College of Medical Practice Executives in 2015. After achieving her FACMPE, she has served as a ACMPE exam essay grader. Currently, she is the Executive Director for First Physicians Group, a health - system employed multi-specialty group of over 120 physicians and 45 Advanced Practice Professionals located In Sarasota, Florida. Michelle has presented at many local meetings, and recently at the FHIMA on MACRA/QPP. She also serves as the group's HIPAA privacy officer; CMS authorized official and Medical Records custodian.
