O. Le Galudec graduated in ENSEM engineer school in 1987, then joined the French Navy as air traffic controller officer prior to completing a PhD in Fluid Mechanics in Nancy 1 University in late 1990 . He then joined GEC-Alsthom as calculation engineer for new turnkey Plant projects. In the early 90s he then went to Performance test of Gas Turbines open cycles and combined cycles. He was appointed performance test leader in 1993 on Connah’s Quay Plant (one of the first Plants with GE 9F turbines in single shaft ) and then accumulated performance test campaigns of GT open cycles, combined cycles with both GE gas turbine technology and ASLTOM turbines, cogeneration plants, then Steam Plants. In 2002 Olivier was given the task to combine the Performance groups of Belfort and Baden and harmonise methods and tools ; which was made effective in 2003 with introduction of ALPRO, the new software being then developed and scope of application extended well beyond the initial steam turbine environment . He has now over 140 acceptance tests campaigns experience in 30 different countries and contributes as author to ASME PTC46 & ISO 18 888 and chairs PTC48 code . O. Le Galudec is currently head of Performance Group covering calculatation and test activities for Steam Power Systems in the field of Plant technical guarantees.
