Joanne Sexton completed twenty-three years of Navy IT related experience providing hardware maintenance, software development and support, telecommunications services, computer center operations, software quality assurance, space operations management, project management, and information security practice. Before joining the faculty at Augusta University, Joanne was selected to stand up (akin to starting a new business) and served as the first Commanding Officer of what is known today as Navy Information Operations Command Georgia. She holds a Master of Computer Science Degree, a Master in National and Strategic Studies Degree and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Joanne additionally holds the following Global Information Assurance Certifications (GIAC): GSEC, GCIH, GCIA, and GPEN.
