Steven Belport holds a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Colorado State University in Pueblo and has over 25 years of railroad experience at the AAR's Transportation Technology Center. During his career as a Senior Test engineer he has served as the project manager and lead engineer for several major freight and high-speed passenger rail programs at TTC, Amtrak's Northeast Corridor, South America and Japan. He also has extensive experience in railroad research, instrumentation, data analysis, vehicle dynamics, testing, and computer modelling for all types of rail equipment. He is currently working for the AAR’s Technical Standards Group as the Brake Systems Committee Manager which involves coordinating all committee work, maintaining and developing AAR standards, specification compliance testing and support of AAR's research programs.
