Jason King, PhD served as a DSM-5 Revision Task Force committee member for ACA and AMHCA and has given over 185 national and international trainings on the DSM-5 since its publication in May 2013. He completed a podcast and webinar on the DSM-5 with ACA and wrote 18 monthly articles on the DSM-5 in ACA's Counseling Today. Dr. King composed a journal article on the DSM-5 published in NBCC's The Professional Counselor and authored a 100 page online continuing education course on the DSM-5 (www.ContinuingEdCourses.Net?). He is also the DSM-5 specialist for the PIMSY EHR practice management mental/behavioral health advisory board?. Dr. King is the DSM-5 content editor for the upcoming textbook Diagnosing Children and Adolescents: Guide for Mental Health Practitioners.? Dr. King co-owns and clinically directs Life Enhancement Center?, an outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment clinic that collected data for the American Psychiatric Association’s Routine Clinical Practice field trials? that informed the DSM-5 revision process and listed on page 914 of the DSM-5 as a Collaborating Investigator. He has taught DSM and Clinical Assessment classes at the bachelor and master’s level. Dr. King holds a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision (Graduation with Distinction and Presidential Honors), a Master of Counseling in Mental Health Counseling (Graduation with Honors), and a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies. Since 2009 he has served as the Governor appointed chair of the Utah Clinical Mental Health Counselor licensure board for the Department of Occupational and Professional Licensing. He is the Student Development Coordinator for Walden University's School of Counseling programs. After recommendation from ACA’s Chief Professional Officer David Kaplan, Dr. King served as a Behavioral Health Clinical Panel Member for Stanford University’s Health Policy Center for Primary Care and Outcomes Research.
