Marlene M. Maheu, Ph.D. is the Founder and Executive Director of the TeleMental Health Institute, Inc. As a researcher, speaker, trainer and author, she is the originator of the Online Clinical Practice Model (OCPM) for ethical telemental health and distance counseling. She has published in the area of evidence-based apps for clinical purposes; has led numerous panels of speakers at national professional association conferences where she addressed legal, ethical and evidence-based issues related to apps; and is considered an expert in the area of risk management for clinicians recommending apps for clients.
