Steven Lozano is an Assistant Director for the Strategic Issues team at the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO). Over his 25 year career at GAO, Steven has performed and led audits of various federal activities and programs in such area as, homeland security, financial markets regulation, government-wide management reforms, and human capital management. His current audit work focuses on government-wide and federal agency efforts to address and close skill gaps within the federal workforce. Additionally, Steven serves as an Adjunct Instructor with GAO’s Learning Center, focusing on coursework related to GAO’s audit quality assurance process. He began his federal career as a Presidential Management Fellow after receiving a Masters of Public Administration at the University of Washington, Seattle in 1987.
