Melinda Morgan is the Director of Finance for the Department of Justice (DOJ) where she serves as the principal financial management advisor to DOJ’s senior leadership and is responsible for overseeing and providing direction in the preparation and completion of the Department’s audited financial statements. She also has operational responsibility for activities involved in the areas of travel management, budget execution, consolidation of existing legacy financial systems, and overseeing the payroll for 110,000 DOJ employees as well as executing one of the nation’s largest public sector budgets. Ms. Morgan has served in several key positions in financial management and human resources during her thirty nine years of Federal service. She has played pivotal roles that affect the use of technology to accelerate the department’s mission. For her creative problem solving and technical acumen Ms. Morgan has been awarded The Federal 100 Award and she was a NextGov BOLD finalist.
