Brien Lorenze serves as the Executive Director of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) overseeing the agency's programmatic, operational, and administrative functions. He manages the regulatory portfolio and supervises efforts to reduce consumer hazards. Previously, Brien was a Senior Advisor at the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), executing technology strategies to safeguard the financial system. He also served as the Chief Data Officer for the Pandemic Response Accountability Committee (PRAC), shaping data strategy for pandemic oversight and establishing the Pandemic Analytics Center of Excellence. Brien's career includes significant contributions at a Deloitte partner, where he led the Global Public Sector Advisory business and founded a cloud-based solution for detecting waste, fraud, and abuse. He also held leadership roles at BearingPoint and IBM Global Services. Brien has a proven track record in implementing cutting-edge technology solutions. Known for his vision and technical expertise, Brien has received numerous awards, most recently including the 2023 Inspector General’s Award for Excellence in the Strategic Use of Data.
