Gary Popp, Director of Retail and Entertainment at Spooky Nook Sports, manages all aspects of the retail and games department for North America’s largest sports facility. Popp started his career in the hospitality industry in 1990 at Hershey Entertainment and Resorts (Hersheypark) a 110-acre entertainment complex. Currently, Popp is responsible for coordinating, researching and developing product and revenue plans for the sports facility. He has a vast knowledge of Inventory controls and sourcing and manufacturing of product with suppliers. In addition to store operations, merchandising and concessionaires, Popp is experienced at strategic planning after spending years working as a team member for capital expansion projects. He was part of the opening team for a museum in which the museum retail operation exceeded the budgeted revenues by 100% in year one and 40% in year two. Additionally, he is recognized as a leader of inclusion serving as a liaison within the organization and the Hispanic community. Popp is an excellent brand and operational manager who specializes in store operations, and business process improvements. Popp is past President of the Tourist Industry Retail Merchants Association (TIRMA) and is an active member of both the Merchandise Committee and the Government Regulations Committee for IAAPA. Popp is a graduate of Colorado University and is an active member within his community. He was a member of the Big Brother/Big Sister program and is actively involved in Project Fellowship with the Milton Hershey School.
