Matthew Wittenstein joined the International Energy Agency in 2014 as a member of the Gas, Coal and Power Markets Division. As an electricity sector analyst he focuses on the economics of generation, the challenges of encouraging investment in clean energy technologies, and issues related to electricity market design. He is primarily working on the 2015 Projected Costs of Generating Electricity study, a study of power market development in the ASEAN countries, and a study of electricity security in Thailand. Matthew holds a Masters of International Affairs from Columbia University, with a concentration in international economic policy.
