DR. KURUJIT NAKORNTHAP is presently Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Energy of Thailand. He graduated with a Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, U.S.A., and also underwent management and executive training courses at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM), the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird), the French ENSPM-FI institute, and the London Business School. Dr. Kurujit joined the Thai Government’s Civil Service in 1983 and had many work experiences in the field of petroleum exploration and production, as well as international energy cooperation, and energy policy matters. He is currently also member of Council of Trustees of the Petroleum Institute of Thailand (PTIT); Secretary of the Thai - Malaysian Association (TMA); Director of PTT Public Company Limited; Chairman of the Board of Director of Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Plc.; Chairman of the Board of Director of Thai Oil Group and Chairman of the Board of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand. Prior to his present post as Permanent Secretary, Dr. Kurujit has held many important positions such as Deputy Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Energy, Director-General of Department of Mineral Fuels, Chairman of the Board of Director of PTT Exploration and Production Public Co. Ltd. (PTTEP), and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Malaysia-Thailand Joint Authority (MTJA).
