Dr Popella is 42 years old and studied electrical engineering at RWTH Aachen Technical University in Germany. He received PhD in electromagnetic field theory including several publications on numeric and genetic optimization strategies. He has 10 years of experience in the energy business. He started his occupational career at first with ABB and later on continued with Siemens. Since 2009 Dr Popella has been working for STEAG. One of his focuses is energy efficiency and development of economic concepts for customer generation units. These services are especially related to small and medium enterprises in industry and commerce. In addition he is responsible for two partnerships with municipal shareholders of STEAG promoting these topics.
