Chandran Duraisamy Ponniah was conferred a Bachelor and Masters Degree in Chemical and Materials Engineering from the University of Auckland, New Zealand in years 1970 and 1972. Since graduation, Ir. Ponniah has been involved in research, planning, design and construction supervision of environmental and sanitary engineering projects. His participation in theses disciplines have also involved addressing energy efficiencies and energy conservation measures. He has a total of 41 years of experience in his field of engineering specialization. Ir. Ponniah was employed at the Rubber Research Institute of Malaysia from 1973 to 1976 and with Minconsult Sdn Bhd thereafter.
