Chen has over five years of experience in power system research projects. He received his B.S. dual degree in Power Engineering and business Administration from Wuhan University, China, M.S. and Ph.D degrees in Power Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2007, 2008 and 2012 respectively. Throughout his career, Chen has developed his expertise in smart energy management systems, energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and energy storage systems, power system operation and planning. Since joining DNV GL in Dec 2013, Chen has been working on R&D in Smart Grid and renewable energy grid integration, as well as providing consultancy services in the same area. Chen is able to speak, read and write English and Mandarin very well.
