Cyril Cabanes has over 17 years of experience spanning all facets of infrastructure transactions including acquisitions, financing and fundraising in Asia-Pacific and Europe. Mr Cabanes is currently Senior Vice President – Development at Marubeni Asian Power in Singapore. Marubeni is one of Asia’s largest IPPs with 17 assets in 10 countries and investments totalling over 3,400MW in equity capacity. Asia is the largest and fastest-growing contributor to Marubeni’s global power investment business totalling 10,600MW of equity capacity. Prior to joining Marubeni in January 2014, Mr Cabanes was Director and Portfolio Manager at Deutsche Bank in the infrastructure investments business (formerly known as RREEF Infrastructure) in Sydney, Australia. In this role, he was responsible for capital raising and product development in Asia Pacific and was instrumental in securing in excess of AUD2bn in new investor commitments. He was also a member of the Asia-Pacific Investment Committee and was a non-executive director on the boards of a number of investment companies. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, Mr Cabanes spent 10 years in investment banking and financial markets with RBS (where he was Head of Natural Resources, Power & Utilities for Australia and New Zealand), BNP Paribas and UBS. Mr Cabanes graduated with a Masters in Management and Strategy from ESCP-Europe business school in Paris and attended the MBA Programme at Drexel University in Philadelphia. Mr Cabanes is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD)
