A native of Hollywood, Florida, Mr. David Zeliff served as a CID Special Agent and Soldier for 26 years, retiring in October 2000. After supervising a state level crime scene unit, and leading that unit to ASCLD accreditation, Mr. Zeliff came back to CID as a civilian. From February 2005 until October 2013 Mr. Zeliff served as the Deputy Inspector General (IG) and for periods of time as the Command IG for CID. In October 2013 Mr. Zeliff became the CID Command Forensic Science Program Manager. Mr. Zeliff holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from Troy State University (Cum Laude) and a Master’s Degree of Forensic Science from George Washington University. His military and skill related education includes: Military Police School, US Army, Fort McClellan, AL, Military Police Investigations, Military Customs Inspector School , Drug Enforcement School (2 Week DEA Course), Criminal Investigations School, Sex Crimes Investigations Course, Advanced Fraud Investigations, Medical Research Fellowship, Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, Protective Services Training Course, Counter terrorism Course, FBI National Academy, 169th Session, Certified Public Management Program, State of Mississippi Level 1 thru 3, Police Photography, FBI Academy, Bloodstain Pattern Analysis (Basic and Advanced), Forensic Mapping, and the Inspector General School. He is currently a Fellow in the American Academy of Forensic Science, and the Chair for Forensic Disciplines for the General Section.
