Anne May is the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM) Biometric Support Center (BSC) Program Manager. OBIM, formerly the United States Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology (US-VISIT) Program, is the lead entity in the Department of Homeland Security for biometric identity management services across Government. The BSC provides biometric identification services in support of OBIM’s mission. Ms. May is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the BSC and working closely with OBIM stakeholders to advance the use of biometrics. She has 25 years of program management experience in the public sector including 17 years of experience with biometric technologies. She began her government career with the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) where she was the program manager for large scale records management systems. She also served as the Biometrics Portfolio Manager where she oversaw budget and system business operations for the INS biometrics program. Ms. May has worked at US-VISIT since its inception in 2003, where she managed the implementation of multi-year, multi-agency project responsible for the deployment of specialized biometric hardware to over 550 border patrol and immigration enforcement field sites. Ms. May has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from James Madison University.
