Mike Lesko
Deputy Assistant Director
Texas Department of Public Safety
Mr. Lesko is currently a Deputy Assistant Director for Texas Department of Public Safety, in charge of the Crime Records Service. In his capacity as Deputy Assistant Director, Mike has oversight of the Texas AFIS, the Computerized Criminal History system (CCH), Sex Offender Registry program (SOR), the Texas Crime Information Center (TCIC) and the Texas Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) program. In addition to his state crime records duties, Mike serves as the CJIS System Officer for Texas, serves on the FBI’s Advisory Policy Board (APB), is Chair of the FBI APB's Identification Services Subcommittee (ISS), he chairs the Joint Taskforce on Rapsheet Standardization (JTF), is a member of the Executive Steering Committee for the FBI/DHS Interoperability Planning Taskforce (ESC), is a member of the FBI APB’s NDEx Subcommittee (INSH), is the APB representative to the Compact Council and to the FBI’s Biometric Steering Committee. Mike, a graduate of the University of Texas, has been with the Texas DPS for 24 years.
