Ms. Mills is the Director of Entry Transformation in the Entry/Exit Transformation Office within the Office of Field Operations, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The Entry/Exit Office is responsible for assessing operational processes, evaluating technologies, and deploying new capabilities for recording the entry and exit of individuals traveling through U.S. ports of entry. Ms. Mills began her career with the former U.S. Customs Service in 1991, as a technical program manager for a variety of mission critical programs. From this experience, Ms. Mills gained an extensive background in Customs and Immigration operations which eventually merged as CBP within the Department of Homeland Security in 2003. That same year, she joined the U.S. Visitor Immigrant Status Indicator Technology (US-VISIT) program as Chief of Business Management and was responsible for defining the biometric program for all arriving and departing foreign nationals. In March of 2007, Ms. Mills returned to CBP as the Director of Traveler Entry Programs and continued her role as the biometric liaison for CBP. In 2013, Congress transferred the biographic and biometric Entry/Exit mission from US-VISIT to CBP at which time, Ms. Mills returned to the helm once again to bring advanced biometric technologies to the nation’s ports of entry.
