Mike Childress is a Regional Training Manager for Pentair Pool, conducting technical education courses for the pool and spa industry. Mike began his career with Pentair in 1990 in manufacturing, learning the ins and outs of pumps and filtration. In 1993 he moved into the maintenance department, gaining knowledge and eventually specializing in industrial-electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and gas boilers and heating systems. In 1999 Mike transitioned into the technical service department expanding his knowledge throughout Pentair’s product line, assisting customers in troubleshooting and repair of equipment. In 2005 Mike began his career as a technical trainer, gaining his EPA certification for the service of heating and cooling systems and his CPO and becoming an PHTA instructor, while expanding his specialties to include electrical systems, NEC codes, heating and automation systems.
