Diane Watkins

Diane Watkins is currently the Manager of Substation Field Engineering at Xcel Energy. She is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Arizona and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, both from Arizona State University. She is a senior member of IEEE and the current Vice-Chair of the PES Substations Committee. Her previous roles on the Committee include Chair of the Meetings Subcommittee and Chair of the Working Group for IEEE Std 1127-2013 Guide for the Design, Construction, and Operation of Electric Power Substations for Community Acceptance and Environmental Compatibility. She has over 16 years of experience in the electric power industry, specifically in the areas of Substation Engineering and Substation Maintenance.
