Dr. Markku Jaaskelainen has a long experience in machine vision, embedded vision, industrial automation and artificial intelligence. He has very good understanding of vision technology, products and markets. Markku holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Jyvaskyla in Finland. Prior to starting his own venture, Sinimeri Ltd, in 2012 Markku was Executive Vice President for Vision Software at Cognex Corporation (CGNX) in Natick, MA. He was responsible for research & development of core vision technology and vision software business unit within the company. Prior to this he served as the President of the company’s Surface Vision Division based in Alameda, CA. Prior to joining Cognex in 1999 Markku was Vice President of System Strategy at Honeywell (HON) Industrial Automation based in Cupertino, CA. There he was responsible for new product development of industrial measurement and control systems. During his long stay at Honeywell he pioneered and managed many factory automation and machine vision technologies and businesses. For several years until 2012 he was a board member at Automated Imaging Association (trade group for North American machine vision industry). Kuvio Automation Ltd was founded in 2012 by Sinimeri Ltd and other investors to build a team of engineers and marketers with extensive expertise in machine vision and intelligent software. Markku is the Chairman and CEO of Kuvio Automation Ltd.
