Shiva received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Arizona in Aug. 2013, and from the University of Cergy-Pontoise, France in Dec. 2012, under a dual doctoral degree program. His doctoral research focused on the development and analysis of modern error-correction techniques for storage and communications. Since he graduated, he has been the CEO of Codelucida, a startup based in Tucson, AZ that he co-founded along with his two former Ph.D. advisors. The startup develops customized novel low-power error-correction solutions for flash controller chips to provide speed and reliability enhancements. The foundations for Codelucida’s patented technology came from his doctoral research.
