Ms. Laura Rea is a senior Technology Program Manager for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Materials and Manufacturing Directorate’s Soft Matter Materials Branch. Her current area of responsibility includes development of materials and processes for sensors and components suitable for use in human performance monitoring, supporting enhanced autonomy in military systems. She is Program Manager for the Nano-Bio Manufacturing Consortium (NBMC), and is the Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative on the DARPA Atoms to Products (A2P) Program. Prior positions have included Tech Advisor for the AFRL Sensors Directorate Metamaterials Branch, and as the C4ISR Portfolio Manager for the AFRL Materials and Manufacturing Directorate. She has been a military technologist for over 30 years, including a one year detail as a Staff Member in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Director of Defense Research and Engineering.
