Kathleen Shaker is an independent investigative consultant and subject matter expert in health care fraud. She is currently one of Healthcare Fraud Shield’s Subject Matter Experts and works with customers analyzing data, conducting investigations and investigative support, providing policy recommendations, and serves as overall SIU resource as needed. Prior to becoming a consultant in February 2011, Kate was the Director of Special Investigations for a Blue Cross Blue Shield plan located in central Pennsylvania. Kate is frequently invited to speak on a national level on various health care fraud topics. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing, is a certified professional coder (CPC, CPC-H) and an Accredited Health Care Fraud Investigator (AHFI).
