David Khani, has 16+ years of experience providing construction, engineering and system analysis consulting services to the power, utility, alternative energy, hydro, water, oil and natural gas industries. His experiences have included the development of codes, standards and procedures, design of reservoir systems, power house operations, dam safety, permitting, regulations, market design, DOT, FERC, EPA, ISO, contract management, financial management, project management, project execution, leadership, dams, hydro-transports, high pressure oil & gas and transmission lines in North America and abroad, involving advanced hydraulics, and electrical/civil/mechanical design from conceptual development through final design. Mr. Khani has also extensive experiences involving hydro - wind - thermal system planning and operational optimization, production cost analysis, hydraulic transients, and in implementing project management processes. Mr. Khani’s recent work has been focused on supervising power house and plant operations and optimizing the operational costs of large scale mix power generation system in the state of Maine and in Saskatchewan which includes Androscoggin River system in Maine, Worumbo station, and Saskatchewan River system in SK, fish, hydroelectric, thermal, gas and wind power generation plants. Mr. Khani is interested in increasing understanding of all aspects in transmission lines, power generation, hydraulics, integrating renewable resources, and water resources systems for better efficiency. He is a registered professional engineer, and a member of HydroVision’s Technical Papers Planning Committee.
