Mr. Spain has more than 30 years of experience in engineering design and management, primarily in the study, design, construction and maintenance of hydroelectric projects, and is in an expert in hydromechanical engineering. At HDR|DTA, Mr. Spain is Vice-President of the Northwest Region, Hydropower Department; Senior Associate; Director of Hydromechanical Engineering for all HDR|DTA; and Project Manager, Project Engineer and Lead Mechanical Engineer for numerous hydroelectric projects throughout North America. Previously, he was the Northwest Regional Manager for Duke Engineering & Services (DE&S), Department Manager of Hydromechanical and Electrical Engineering for Northrop Devine & Tarbell, and Hydroelectric Project Engineer at the E.C. Jordan Company in Portland, Maine.
