Alexandra De Visser works in NAVFAC EXWC's Ocean Engineering Division which operates under the Ocean Facilities Group. She manages and provides technical oversight of various ocean energy assessment and demonstration projects involving wave, tidal, and river current technologies in the U.S. With degrees in oceanography and mechanical engineering, her efforts currently focus on the Navy's Wave Energy Test Site (WETS) expansion off of Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe, Oahu. Alexandra has managed efforts to plan for installing two new deep-water moorings off of Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH), with a subsea power and fiber optic transmission cable, shore-side office facilities, electrical grid connection, and data collection components. She is also the Navy PM for two University Affiliated Research Center (UARC) projects: the University of Hawaii's HINMREC/HNEI support operations and maintenance activities at WETS and the University of Washington's Applied Physics Laboratory efforts to advance MHK capabilities for Naval Facilities.
