Alexandre Trudel is a junior mechanical research engineer at the Global Technology Center in sustainable hydro of Alstom Renewable Power Inc in Sorel-Tracy, Canada. He holds a B.Eng. (2010) and a M.Sc.A (2013) in mechanical engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal and is specialized in the fatigue and fracture mechanics assessment of stainless steel welds as found in hydraulic turbine runners. Within Alstom and through various partnerships with industrial and academic partners, he is involved in many technical R&D projects, such as the mechanical validation of hydraulic turbine parts, site measurements, fatigue and fracture mechanics assessments, metallurgical studies and robotic welding.
