Alexander received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1994 and 1999. In 2002 he obtained a Postgraduate degree in science of management from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich, Switzerland. In 1999, he joined GE Renewable Hydro, in Birr (Switzerland), as a member of the Hydro Generator Technology Center where he held various positions. Since 2011 he has been appointed R&D Director electrical having the overall responsibility for the Electrical R&D in GE Renewable Energy Hydro
