Erik Ela

National Renewable Energy Laboratory


Erik Ela received the BSEE degree from Binghamton University and the MSEE degree from Illinois Institute of Technology. He is part of the research team at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and is an expert in the fields of power system modeling, power system operations, electricity markets, ancillary services, and the integration of renewable and emerging technologies. Prior to NREL, Erik worked at the New York Independent System Operator, and developed products for the energy markets and operations areas.
