Mike is currently the Director of Operations at Kaukauna Utilities, a small Municipal Utility, located 15 miles south of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Kaukauna Utilities operates 19 low head hydro units at seven dams, five of which are located at USACE dams, and two gas turbines. He is responsible for Generation, Major Project Construction, Licensing, FERC and Wisconsin DNR Regulations and Compliance, The Electric Distribution System, The Water Distribution System, Substations, Metering, and The Operations Center (manned 24/7). Mike was the Project Manager for the 7.0 MW Badger Hydro Project. He has served as Manager of Generation and Operations, and Generation Superintendent at Kaukauna Utilities. Prior to that, Mike was a Project Manager for AZCO Integrated Construction. While at AZCO, Mike Managed Major Generation Station Outages, the construction of GE Frame 7 Gas Turbines and a project where 6200 lineal feet of wooden penstock was replaced with spiral weld metal pipe. Mike was also a Project Manager for Wisconsin Public Service Corporation for 15 years, Managing numerous Power Plant upgrades including coal handling systems, electrostatic precipitators, baghouses, hydro upgrades, and Managing Plant Maintenance Outages. Mike has been very active in various organizations and conferences, presenting papers, participating in panel discussions, and Chairing Sessions at PowerGen International, HydroVision, NHA, and the Midwest Hydro Users Group. Mike is also a member of numerous Committees within NHA, Midwest Hydro Users Group, and HydroVision, and has also served numerous office positions at The Midwest Hydro Users Group, including past President.
