As the Director of Autonomy Development, Dr. Lemos is responsible for driving performance improvements across the product lifecycle for our autonomous products, with a focus on engagement early in the value stream. She has a documented record of turning new technologies into solutions trusted by operators, overseers, and the public they serve. She is especially known for her innovative and strategic approaches in the domains of autonomy and analytics. Dr. Lemos joined Northrop Grumman in 2014, and has served as Program Director of Civil Certification within the Autonomous Systems Division, and more recently as the Director of Autonomy Research, ensuring our continued leadership in the unmanned market by developing and providing trusted, intelligent, autonomous solutions. Previously, Dr. Lemos worked at Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Headquarters as a technical leader and program manager in Aircraft Certification and Aviation Safety. She developed policy, trained test pilots and safety engineers, led internal and government-industry initiatives for innovative safety and policy approaches, and managed research portfolios to align agency decisions and resources with strategic objectives for both FAA and NASA. Dr. Lemos also worked for the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) as a Senior Human Performance Investigator in Aviation Safety for domestic and international major accident investigations, and then as Special Assistant to Vice Chairman of the Board, supporting investigations and recommendations across all transportation modes.
