Dr. Stockwell earned his PhD in Particle Astrophysics at UC Berkeley. Since leaving academia he has worked a variety of roles in companies exploiting the revolution in cheap, low power, capable sensors. At Crossbow Technology he helped create the first MEMS based FAA certified AHRS system. Dr. Stockwell has worked in a variety of industries that require high reliability and safety: aviation, oil and gas, and automotive. Risk management is key to successful deployment in all of these industries. He is the Director of Technical Standards at DJI, working to bring partnership to government and industry in the growing UAS field.
