Jon Springer has been writing about food, food retailers and food retailing for more than 10 years, and is in his second tour of duty with Supermarket News. His prior experience includes covering the beverage industry for a variety of publications, consumer markets for KPMG, and retail real estate for Shopping Centers Today, the magazine of the International Council of Shopping Centers. A former daily newspaper sports reporter, Jon is also a baseball historian and author of the book, "Mets by the Numbers" (Skyhorse Publishing, 2008). He lives in Brooklyn with his family.
